AstroDatabank Newsmaker: Steve Fossett

Many people have written to ask about Barack Obama's birth time. We assure you that if we find a birth time that is from a reliable source, we will feature his chart as a newsmaker. Please note that we have not been able to verify any of the various times that have been circling the Internet, including the 1:06 PM time attributed to Frances McEvoy from an anonymous unknown source. We'd also like to feature Mike Huckabee's chart at some time in the future, but again do not have a birth time from a reliable source. As always, we appreciate any help our readers and program users can give in tracking down solid data!

In the meantime, let's take a break from the heat of political battle and focus this week on the chart of a fascinating man. Steve Fossett set 116 records on land, sea and air. His friend, Richard Branson, owner of Virgin Atlantic Airways has admiringly described Fossett as "only half-human" and "almost super-human." On September 3, 2007 Fossett flew a light plane on an exploratory mission, scouting areas for a future adventure. He has not been heard from since then nor have his remains been found after an exhaustive search. Presuming his death, his wife has asked the court to issue a death certificate.

Let's look at Steve Fossett's chart this week to see what factors might be responsible for this fascinating life and startling disappearance.

1. What factors in his chart explain his drive, his need to accomplish wondrous feats, to do what no one has done before? For those who study declination, note that his Mars is out of bounds at 24°37’ northern declination in Cancer and in the 6th house. What does the position of Mars add to your interpretation of his adventurous competitive nature?
2. He said that even as a child he didn’t care for team sports, preferring individual feats. What in the chart describes his solitary approach to athletic endeavors?
3. In a way, his disappearance is as remarkable as the number of records he holds. He has always been considered adventurous but not totally foolhardy, daring but careful and resourceful as well. Is there anything in the chart that might describe his disappearance and suspected death? If he had consulted with you before his last take-off in September 3, 2007, what might you have told him about the flight?

Take a look at what our readers had to say about Bilawal Bhutto Zardari's chart:
