Chapter 1: General Characteristics

     Your fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by the four astrological elements. Each person has their own unique balance of these four basic energies: fire (warmth, inspiration, enthusiasm), earth (practicality, realism, material interests), air (social and intellectual qualities), and water (emotional needs and feelings).

    Your "elemental make-up" is described below. Remember that most people are "unbalanced" or lopsided, and if you are lacking or deficient in a certain element (or elements), it simply means that you need to consciously develop that aspect of yourself to learn to appreciate and/or to work harder in that dimension of life.

Chapter 2: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others

    The following is a description of your basic stance towards life, the way others see you, the way you come across, the face you show to the world. In Chapter 3 you will read about the "The Inner You: Your Real Motivation", which describes the kind of person you are at heart and where your true priorities lie. Read this chapter and the next one and compare them - there may be significant differences between them, in which case "the inner you" may not shine through and others are in for some surprises when they get to know you at a more than superficial level. This chapter describes the costume you wear, your role in life, while Chapter 3 talks about the real person inside the costume.

    You meet life head on and throw yourself into new experiences with zest and enthusiasm. You are direct, straightforward, assertive, and usually completely aboveboard in all your dealings. Candid and incapable of guile, insincerity or phoniness, you project a confident and sometimes arrogant appearance to others. You often lack tact and sensitivity, and can be completely oblivious to others' needs, and inadvertently selfish.     Although you strive for honesty and candor, as described in the previous chapter, you are really very nonaggressive and kind, as discussed below. You often feel a great chasm between your idealism and the harsh realities that often require confrontation and sometimes conflict. However, you have a gift for being able to stand up by yourself with integrity, but without malice or vindictiveness. Your strength combined with your compassion can make you a leader who is deeply sensitive to the needs of others. Chapter 4: Mental Interests and Abilities

    You are more of a poet than a rational scientist, for your mind does not function in a strictly logical, linear fashion. The language of music, art, or poetry is natural to you, and you are also able to think in highly abstract and symbolic terms.     Even-tempered and peace-loving, you are not easily ruffled and are rarely given to emotional displays.      You have a critical, cynical attitude towards many religions and philosophies. Without realizing it, you prevent yourself from appreciating new viewpoints and attitudes. You are more rigid and dogmatic than you realize. Your approach may also be too intellectual or moralistic. Chapter 9: Originality and Imagination

Areas Where You Are Creative, Unique, Unstable, or Compulsive

     Most people do not see your wild, daring, "crazy" side, and you yourself may be unaware of it! You tend to hold back the unconventional, inventive, impulsive side of you nature - or to live it out only in your private fantasies. You may have strange dreams!

     Your creative self-expression has a very imaginative quality, and you have a particular affinity for drama, theater, film, and other artistic mediums in which creative fantasy plays a major role.

     In love and romance, also, you often have glamorous fantasies that have little to do with reality.

Chapter 10: Generational Influences: Your Age Group

    In this chapter we will discuss characteristics and traits of your generation. Of course, you may not share all of the characteristics of your generation, but you are greatly affected by the tone that is set by your generation.

    The first topic is "The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group". In this section we will describe a deeply felt urge, even compulsion, of your age group. This deeply felt drive comes to the surface with great force and power, and consequently leaves in its wake considerable upheaval and change. The second topic is "The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group", that describes the dreams, fantasies, and spiritual aspirations of your age group. The third and last topic is "What is New and Different in Your Age Group", which describes areas in which your age group tends to be innovative, inventive, unusual, and also where it may be unstable and unreliable.

    The characteristics described below may affect a group of people for anywhere from a few years to about 30 years. There are one or more different astrological factors described in each of the three sections below.

The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group

    You are part of a 25 year group of people who have strong feelings for home and country. You are a sentimental group, and feel deeply attached to your family and your country. You cling to the familiar, are distrustful and fearful of different cultures, and consequently a great deal of racial and ethnic prejudice is common among your age group.

    Your need for closeness and togetherness runs very deep and causes you to bond closely to family members and old friends, and also makes you prone to be involved in mass movements and group activities because they feed your largely subconscious need for acceptance and support by others. Unfortunately, your age group is easily carried away by a group frenzy and many of you often lack the integrity or courage to think and act in an independent and rational way.

    Your generation is very emotional and tenderhearted. Many of your group sacrificed a great deal to help your children or other family members, while other generations are unwilling to give as much as you have. Your tender feelings and regard for the well-being of others can spur your age group to make contributions towards the feeding of the hungry, care for the neglected, and support for the needy, particularly children and mothers. You are a group of people with a strong heart and a helpful hand. Many of you have parents and/or children who are not nearly as supportive and helpful; many of your contributions are not completely appreciated or even go unnoticed.

The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group

    You are part of a 14 year group of people that have a very vivid and colorful imagination. A love of color, fashion, and drama is very strong. Your generation gave tremendous impetus and growth to Hollywood movies and other spectacular arts. Most people of your age group have many fantasies and naive, starry-eyed ideas about movie stars and other idols. Needless to say, this tendency to idolize someone can lead to big disappointments and those of you who married early in life projected your fantasies on your spouse, and had to gradually face the realities as you matured.

What is New and Different in Your Age Group

    You are part of a 7 year group of people who are highly independent, self-reliant, self-willed, and rebellious. You are a rowdy bunch and your generation broke many time-honored traditions and customs. Your age group pioneered many new ideas that remained fashionable for many years; for example, rock 'n' roll was introduced by people of your age group.
