You will find that the interpretation of your chart is written in simple
language, uncluttered by astrological jargon. If a statement appears to
contradict another statement, then you exhibit these opposite qualities at
different times in your life. For example, a statement that you are highly
sociable and gregarious and a statement that you prefer solitude seemingly
contradict each other; this means that you vacillate, and need both sociability
and solitude at different times.
The astrological factor that the interpretation is based on is also given. The
astrological factor is given for the benefit of astrologers and students of
astrology. If you are not a student of astrology, then obviously the factor will
not be meaningful to you, and you can ignore it.
If you find this interpretation of your birth chart interesting and informative,
you might want to discuss your birth chart with a professional astrologer to
learn more about the astrological influences on your life.

Chapter 1: General Characteristics
Your fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by
the four astrological elements. Each person has their own unique balance of
these four basic energies: fire (warmth, inspiration, enthusiasm), earth
(practicality, realism, material interests), air (social and intellectual
qualities), and water (emotional needs and feelings).
Your "elemental make-up" is described below. Remember that most people are
"unbalanced" or lopsided, and if you are lacking or deficient in a certain
element (or elements), it simply means that you need to consciously develop that
aspect of yourself to learn to appreciate and/or to work harder in that
dimension of life.
Sometimes we overvalue the element that we are least endowed with, sensing it as
a lack within ourselves, but more often we neglect or ignore it. The qualities
described below will be reiterated and explained in more detail in the following
chapters.
Finding your life's work - a
concrete means of self-expression - and discovering your place in the world is
one of your fundamental challenges. You tend to feel out of place in the world,
with no solid sense of security. You often live in the private world of your
imagination and though you may have a very rich inner life, you tend not to
actualize or do anything productive with it. The more prosaic, material side of
life either baffles or disinterests you, yet you need to develop that aspect of
yourself.
Constancy, patience, and practicality are qualities you need to cultivate.
Astrological influences analyzed in Chapter 1:
Water is Strong, Earth is Weak (F,E,A,W Scores = 7,2,14,26)
Chapter 2: How You Approach Life and How You Appear To Others
The following is a description of your basic stance towards life, the way others
see you, the way you come across, the face you show to the world. In Chapter 3
you will read about the "The Inner You: Your Real Motivation", which describes
the kind of person you are at heart and where your true priorities lie. Read
this chapter and the next one and compare them - there may be significant
differences between them, in which case "the inner you" may not shine through
and others are in for some surprises when they get to know you at a more than
superficial level. This chapter describes the costume you wear, your role in
life, while Chapter 3 talks about the real person inside the costume.
You appear gentle and soft, and you act rather reserved with others until you
know them well and feel it is safe to be open with them. You have a strong need
for emotional security and a sense of belonging, and are deeply attached to the
past: your heritage, roots, family, cherished friends, familiar places, etc.
Making radical changes or moves away from what is known and safe can be very
painful and difficult for you. You tend to cling and hold on to people,
memories, possessions of personal or sentimental significance. Having a home, a
safe haven, is very important to you.
You approach life emotionally and subjectively and are sensitive to the
emotional atmosphere, the subtle undercurrents of feeling in and around you.
Instinctive and nonrational, you are often unable to give a clear, simple
explanation for your actions. Something FEELS right, or it doesn't.
Your emotions and personal loyalties tend to color your thoughts and opinions.
You view life from a very personal perspective and often cannot mentally detach
yourself from your own personal bias and prejudices. You are apt to be concerned
primarily with how something affects you and those dear and close to you, rather
than with the principle or the broader social implications. For instance, you
may be very patriotic and feel that whatever "my country" does is right without
really knowing much about the other nation's policies or point of view. Put
simply: if it is good for me and mine, it is good. If it is not good for me and
mine, it is no good.
You are tenaciously loyal, protective, and supportive of those you care about,
and have a very strong nurturing, motherly nature (regardless of your gender).
You empathize with others and intuitively sense the feelings and needs of other
people. Compassionate and sympathetic, you are easily moved by others' pain, and
you are often the one others seek out when they need comfort, reassurance, or
help.
Your moods fluctuate and change frequently and you are sometimes open, sometimes
withdrawn emotionally. You communicate nonverbally and appreciate a person who
can pick up subtle cues and hints, rather than having to make everything
explicit.
You never forget either kindness or unkindness shown to you.
In significant ways, your emotional nature and personal needs are at odds with
the way you present yourself. (Compare this chapter with the description of your
moon sign in Chapter 4.) As a result of this inconsistency, you may be
uncomfortable showing your instinctive responses and true feelings. You may put
them aside, maybe even be ashamed of them.
When you are in an emotionally charged situation, those who don't know you well
may be quite surprised at your reactions or behavior. The real challenge,
though, is to completely accept yourself, so that you don't act as if your
emotional needs and impulses didn't count for very much.

Chapter 3: The Inner You: Your Real Motivation
The way you appear or come across to others is very congruent with your true
nature so "what you see is what you get". The description below reinforces what
you read about yourself in the previous chapter.
You have powerful emotional attachments to the past, your family, your
childhood, those places you associate with safety and security and your
beginnings. Maintaining a connection with your roots and heritage and keeping
family bonds strong are very important to you. Loyal, devoted, and sentimental,
you tend to cling to whatever is dear to you, be it person, familiar place, or
cherished possession.
You are sympathetic, nurturing, supportive, and very sensitive to the emotional
needs of other people. You like to be needed, to care for others, and you often
worry about the people you love. You have a very strong need for a sense of
belonging and acceptance, and you center much of your life around your home. You
are more concerned about people and their feelings than with power, achievement,
or position in society. Kindness, consideration, and tenderness impress you more
than any sort of honor the world can bestow.
You are primarily emotional and your views are often dominated by your feelings
and by your own personal, subjective experiences, rather than reason, logic, or
abstract principles. It is difficult for you to judge situations in a fair,
objective manner for your personal sympathies and loyalties usually enter in.
You take things very personally, and sometimes build a wall around yourself to
protect yourself from pain and rejection. You feel rather shy and vulnerable at
heart. You also tend to be moody, experiencing frequent emotional ups and downs.
You need to have a place and time in your life to withdraw, introspect, dream,
and replenish yourself; otherwise you become cranky and unhappy with those
around you.
You function in an instinctive, nonrational manner and like to immerse yourself
in creative activities where you can express your feelings, imagination, and
instincts. You often love to cook, since it can be both creative and a way to
nurture and nourish others. You also have a great affinity for music, because it
evokes and communicates feelings that may be difficult or impossible to put into
words.
Your compassion, sensitivity, and imagination are your strong points. Your
faults include an inability to release the past and go forward, clannishness and
prejudice, and a tendency to be self-pitying when you meet hardships in life.
You tend to get involved in the helping professions or in activities where your
efforts are hidden, behind the scenes, unacknowledged, or unknown to the public.
Asserting yourself or getting up in front of an audience may be exceedingly
uncomfortable for you.
You are loving and well-loved by others, and have a strong need for kindness,
friendship, and affection. Your artistic and creative powers are also well
developed and you do everything in a harmonious, gracious, pleasing manner.
Aesthetics are very important to you. Your personal appearance and
attractiveness are also very important to you.
Inwardly you are zealous and fanatical, though you may hide your personal
desires and intentions, and the intensity of your feelings. You are driven by a
deep inner sense of destiny and mission and an almost compulsive desire for
personal recognition. You have an infatuation with power and are incredibly
willful and stubbornly fixated on achieving greatness or being Somebody Special.
You tend to worship heroes who have powerful personal magnetism and charisma,
and often seek to emulate them. You have potential for tremendous good or
tremendous evil.
You have a strong will and the desire to be successful no matter what obstacles
or resistance you have to overcome. Whatever you do, you know what you want to
get out of it and drive toward that end with great vigor.
You have a powerful personality and a tendency to run roughshod over others. You
tend to inflict your will on them whether or not they are receptive. You are
likely to gain respect from others through the demonstration of physical
strength and bravery.

Chapter 4: Mental Interests and Abilities
You are a person of strong opinions and you express your views energetically and
often dramatically. You are an entertaining speaker and will embellish or
exaggerate in order to get your point across. You have an aptitude for
storytelling and performing. Even if your arena is only the classroom or dining
room table, you put on a good show. You have an abundance of creative ideas and
do not enjoy a job in which you have no creative input or voice in
decision-making. You could be a good politician, spokesperson, group leader,
director, or coach.
You are quite verbal and communicative and eager to get your own ideas and
opinions across to others. You say what is on your mind. Others see you as a
lively, intelligent person, and perhaps something of a chatterbox at times.
Your mind works in a rather electric, inspired, sometimes brilliant way, and you
grasp new concepts very readily. However, your retention may be poor, as you
tend to leap from one idea to another in a flash, and often without thoroughly
digesting any of them. Your mind may race so quickly that it is hard for you to
sit still for any length of time. You have a highly sensitive nervous system and
need a relatively calm, stable environment to be at your best. Avoid
overstimulating, frenetic places in order to stay balanced.
Your mind does not function in a linear, logical manner and you are often unable
to express your thoughts in simple, everyday language. Symbols, images, art, or
music better express your ideas. Flights of imagination and fantasy carry you
into strange and beautiful worlds, and you could develop the ability to
transcribe some of your perceptions to share with others, for example, by
writing fantasy, fiction, lyrics, or poetry. You are sensitive to nuances and
possess intuitive or psychic gifts, but you may become confused between
imagination and true perception. You have a strong mystical and idealistic bent,
and have difficulty concentrating your attention on practical or mundane
activities. You are strongly attracted to metaphysical and spiritual topics.
You are very thorough and are likely to commit yourself to some type of study or
research work. Not very talkative, you try to avoid contact with others as much
as possible and prefer to do your work in seclusion or solitude.

Chapter 5: Emotions: Moods, Feelings, Romance
You are not easily moved by emotional displays and can be curiously detached
from your own and others' emotions. It's almost as if you could turn your
feelings on and off at will so you should be careful not to leave the switch
"off" too often, for you could easily become too impersonal. Family ties and
attachments are not as important to you as they are to most people and you often
consider your friends closer to you than your blood relatives. Certainly, your
sympathy and concern extends much beyond your immediate family. In your personal
relationships, you insist upon a certain amount of independence and the freedom
to pursue friendships with as many people, of both sexes, as you choose. You do
not appreciate a jealous, possessive partner.
You feel comfortable in an atmosphere that is open and experimental, and you
have little taste for convention and tradition.
You depend a great deal upon other people for emotional support and you have a
large "family" of friends that care about you and treat you as kin. The women in
your life are particularly important to you, and your relationship with them
powerfully influences your sense of security and happiness. You may be overly
dependent and unsure of yourself without a close partner.
Gregarious and fun-loving, you are always out to have a good time. You tend to
"play now, pay later" and are prone to overspend, overeat, drink too much, and
in general overdo, and even more so when in the company of others. It is hard
for you to say no, especially when your emotions or appetites are involved.
Generous to a fault, you are apt to be very free both with money and with
affection.
Your sense of reality is a bit weak; you tend to daydream and lose yourself in
your plans. You are likely to be preoccupied with fantasies or ideas that help
you escape the ordinary. Always looking for ideal contacts, you may be drawn to
philanthropic associations.
Sensitive and sentimental, you are deeply attached to your family, old friends,
familiar places, and the past. You are romantic and tender in love, and the
remembrance of birthdays, anniversaries, family rituals, and other days of
personal significance is very important to you. You seek caring, emotional
support, and security in love. You like to be needed, to cherish and protect
your loved ones, and you are somewhat possessive of them.
You often hide your affection, or find your feelings difficult to express or get
across to the person you love. Being openly affectionate and trusting often
doesn't seem safe to you. You may feel your love won't be appreciated or
reciprocated. You may get involved in secret love affairs or fall in love with a
person who is quite unavailable to you. Love and sacrifice often seem to go hand
in hand for you - having to give something up to be with the one you love, or
having to relinquish some person or some aspect of an important love
relationship.
You have deep, compelling love feelings that seem irresistible and often
irrational. Your love relationships are very passionate and intense, and you
experience both agony and ecstasy in love. You are always changed in a deep,
fundamental way by your love experiences, though this may come about through
painful and difficult confrontations or separations. You are something of an
emotional fanatic about things you care about.
You are inclined to do everything with love and may even be in love with your
profession. At times you are apt to consider your work as a substitute for a
partner, but also could show some narcissistic tendencies.
You don't hold back with your charms and show everyone what you have to offer.
Your personality is quite dazzling and enables you to attract many people. Your
need for affection is strong and you probably will have very intense love
relationships.

Chapter 6: Drive and Ambition: How You Achieve Your Goals
You seesaw between being too pushy, confrontational, and insistent on doing
things your way, and being too eager to please, without a clear, definite goal
of your own. You strive for a balance between acting independently and
assertively - and working cooperatively and interdependently with others. You
may feel frustrated at times that you cannot simply do what YOU want to, that
you must always accommodate the needs and desires of others. Or you may feel
hesitant to act in a positive, assertive manner if you do not have the support
and approval of other people. Either way, you are not a loner. You achieve your
goals by collaborating and joining forces with others, by being a team player.
You are very concerned with the concept of fairness and become quite indignant
and vocal if you sense someone is being taken advantage of. You avoid extremism
and favor a balanced, moderate approach to living. You are unlikely to push
yourself too hard or to become fanatically driven to reach your goals.
It is not easy for you to show the world at large your angry or competitive
side, but your family sees this side of you more often. Temper tantrums,
tumultuous family relationships, or a great deal of competition between you and
one or more of your relations is likely. You like to be the one in charge in
your home and you put a lot of energy into making it the way you want it.
You have a great deal of energy and a strong need to accomplish what you set out
to do. Your demeanor tends to be somewhat nervous and excitable and you are
inclined to be the dominant one in your partnerships and marriage.
You live your life to the fullest in a deeply loving and exciting way. Strongly
instinctive, you act by the dictates of your feelings. You radiate emotional
balance and are sensitive, tactful and naturally friendly.
You seem to be in a constant state of deep inner turmoil, are excited easily and
subject to changes of mood. Driven by inner compulsion you may do things that
invite quarrels or disputes and because of your hasty reactions you also are
prone to injuries.
You are capable of overcoming tremendous odds, and of enormous self-discipline
and focus. When you set your sights on achieving something or are presented with
a thorny challenge, it is your capacity for eliminating the superfluous, getting
along with very little, and riding through tough times that enables you to
triumph eventually.
You can be rather antagonistic toward those in authority. Even without realizing
it, you may convey this attitude and you may well be threatening to those in
power. Thus, however well-meaning you are, you may find your initiatives or
projects meet with little favor. Working independently might be your best
option.
You strive to be at one with others, but somehow are not able to synchronize
your feelings or viewpoints with them. Feeling disappointed, you may prefer a
life in seclusion and away from other people.

Chapter 7: Growth and Expansion: Areas That You Enjoy
You cannot tolerate smallness or pettiness in any form, and you have a tendency
to exaggerate. Also, you have a wonderful sense of drama! You must live boldly
and heroically. Otherwise you feel you are simply existing and wasting your
talents.
The desire for personal recognition - or even Fame - and a need to do something
you feel really proud of, motivate you strongly. You have an unusual capacity
for fun and playfulness also.
Wealth, material well-being, and prosperity are very important to you, and you
would never choose a profession that didn't offer you great promise and
opportunity for growth (financial and otherwise).
You are very generous and sometimes careless with money; you don't want to hold
on to it, you want to enjoy it and use it to enrich your life. Whatever you do
with your money, you do in a big way - making it, spending it, or blowing it!
You may accumulate elegant, high quality things (art, jewelry, etc).

Chapter 8: Areas That Challenge You Or Are Difficult For You
You have a penchant for order and precision, and an almost compulsive attention
to detail. You are often hypercritical and can be such a demanding perfectionist
that you discourage yourself or others from even attempting something that won't
be done exactly the way you know it should be done.
You frequently over analyze or pick things apart mentally. You may be something
of a hypochondriac also. You must learn that you do not have to rationally
understand everything in order for it to be valid, and also to relax your
unnecessarily high or strict standards.
Your fears revolve around money and material security, and you work very hard to
ensure that your assets are solid. You may be very conservative, even stingy,
with your money because you are afraid there won't be enough. You may turn this
fear around and become very shrewd about investments and financial matters.
You seesaw between playing it safe, and doing something unique and original,
between self-control and letting loose, between being a responsible adult and a
rebellious adolescent, between what you have to or should do and what your
spontaneous impulses tell you. All of this creates enormous inner tension as
well as friction with people in your environment. You may, for instance,
bitterly resent the government or authority figures who "crush your
individuality", and yet ignore your obligations and responsibilities, thus
ensuring that they will come down on you. Learning to give each side its due is
an ongoing challenge for you.
Your emotional life is likely to be somewhat strained and you have a tendency
toward pessimism. You may not feel as close to your loved ones as you would like
to be, and it could be difficult for you to give and receive love.
Very cautious and reserved, you could find it difficult to express yourself. You
are a bit inhibited around others and don't seem to get much cooperation from
them, causing you to be disappointed.
Now we will discuss patterns of behavior which you instinctively and habitually
revert to when under stress - a mostly unconscious process and one which you are
apt to overdo because it is so familiar and thus easy for you. The direction you
need to follow in order to develop balance, greater awareness, and wholeness is
also described.
You are capable of withstanding outside influences and remaining constant and
steady on your path, but when under stress you become downright obstinate and
implacable, resisting any change no matter how necessary or desirable the change
is. Tenaciously trying to preserve the status quo and hold on to what you have,
you are apt to ignore the subtle signals you receive about needing to do
something differently which often leads to some sort of crisis.
You need to learn the limits of your ability to control life, and to accept and
even embrace change and loss of the familiar, in order to allow new life and
growth to happen. "Letting go" is a major life lesson for you. You also need to
develop a balanced attitude toward your appetites and desires, as you tend to
overindulge and/or deny yourself excessively.
The arena you are most likely to wrestle with these issues is in trying to
strike a balance between your inner, personal life, and your career or
involvement with the world at large. Focusing attention on your home, family
situations, and creating a secure inner base is the direction you need to
follow.
You always look for contacts with groups or associations and have the ability to
blend in unobtrusively. You have a way of integrating others needs and feelings,
at the same time realizing and considering the proceedings of the association.
You may have the feeling that you constantly have to surrender to the wishes of
other people and give the impression of being passive or indifferent when you
are with others. You never take the initiative and depend on the support of
groups you are affiliated with.
You are inclined to seek out people who have the same interests and have a
desire to work with them toward obtaining mutually shared objectives. Some of
your contacts or introductions could come about suddenly.

Chapter 9: Originality and Imagination
Areas Where You Are Creative, Unique, Unstable, or Compulsive
Your life is characterized by sudden disruptions and events which change the
direction of your life quite unexpectedly. You may be impatient and reckless at
certain times, impulsively acting out your urge for new life and change. You are
an emotionally complex person and you are capable of intense, unexpected
outbursts of feelings and desires.
If you share material assets and resources with another person (as in a marriage
or business partnership), your fortunes are likely to fluctuate wildly or change
quickly for better or worse.
You are yielding, gentle, and impressionable. You tend to "melt" into your
surroundings, and do not make a very powerful, vivid impression on others.
Especially while young, you may not have a very clear sense of identity.
Sensitive and compassionate, you do not enjoy fighting and no matter what you
profess, you are a pacifist at heart.
You have a deep interest in secrets, the underworld or unconscious, and anything
hidden and mysterious. Psychoanalysis, investigating your dreams, and other
methods of uncovering secrets are very interesting to you. You may be
exceptionally perceptive intuitively or psychically. Your emotions and
subconscious energies are complex, and periodic transformations and personal
crises are sprinkled liberally throughout your lifetime.
You tend to act impulsively and hastily and could make rash decisions that may
have unexpected consequences. You do your work in a state of excitement and are
prone to overtax your strength. It is important that you learn to recognize your
limitations.
Your emotional excitability is very high and you require a lot of rest and
relaxation to function properly. You are a slave to your feelings and follow
your spontaneous inspirations, but tend to carry them out without the proper
planning beforehand.
Your relationships are filled with passion and you are likely to have many
affairs. You have a tendency to fall in love at first sight, but also to get
bored quickly. You are very independent and have a constant need for excitement
in your life.
You tend to underestimate your ability to succeed and are often unable to follow
through on your intentions. You are quick to resign, easily drained and should
guard against depression and negative mental, emotional or physical reactions.
You appear to be somewhat cold toward your loved ones and may find it difficult
to show your affection for them. You also may expect your loved one to live up
to an impossible romantic ideal that he or she is unable to attain, leaving you
disappointed.

Chapter 10: Generational Influences: Your Age Group
In this chapter we will discuss characteristics and traits of your generation.
Of course, you may not share all of the characteristics of your generation, but
you are greatly affected by the tone that is set by your generation.
The first topic is "The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group". In
this section we will describe a deeply felt urge, even compulsion, of your age
group. This deeply felt drive comes to the surface with great force and power,
and consequently leaves in its wake considerable upheaval and change. The second
topic is "The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group", that describes the
dreams, fantasies, and spiritual aspirations of your age group. The third and
last topic is "What is New and Different in Your Age Group", which describes
areas in which your age group tends to be innovative, inventive, unusual, and
also where it may be unstable and unreliable.
The characteristics described below may affect a group of people for anywhere
from a few years to about 30 years. There are one or more different astrological
factors described in each of the three sections below.
The Subconscious and Emotional Drive of Your Age Group
You are part of a 25 year group of people who have strong feelings for home and
country. You are a sentimental group, and feel deeply attached to your family
and your country. You cling to the familiar, are distrustful and fearful of
different cultures, and consequently a great deal of racial and ethnic prejudice
is common among your age group.
Your need for closeness and togetherness runs very deep and causes you to bond
closely to family members and old friends, and also makes you prone to be
involved in mass movements and group activities because they feed your largely
subconscious need for acceptance and support by others. Unfortunately, your age
group is easily carried away by a group frenzy and many of you often lack the
integrity or courage to think and act in an independent and rational way.
Your generation is very emotional and tenderhearted. Many of your group
sacrificed a great deal to help your children or other family members, while
other generations are unwilling to give as much as you have. Your tender
feelings and regard for the well-being of others can spur your age group to make
contributions towards the feeding of the hungry, care for the neglected, and
support for the needy, particularly children and mothers. You are a group of
people with a strong heart and a helpful hand. Many of you have parents and/or
children who are not nearly as supportive and helpful; many of your
contributions are not completely appreciated or even go unnoticed.
You were also born during a period that lasted approximately 5 years and is
characterized by a very dynamic and competitive spirit. From your age group come
many reformers and dynamic personalities who introduce fundamental changes in
every area of life, whether it be science, politics, etc. You are part of a
dynamic wave of highly spirited individuals who are very progressive. You have
the opportunity to be part of efforts to introduce a great deal of reform, most
of which will be positive and constructive.
The Ideals and Illusions of Your Age Group
You are part of a 14 year group of people that have a very vivid and colorful
imagination. A love of color, fashion, and drama is very strong. Your generation
gave tremendous impetus and growth to Hollywood movies and other spectacular
arts. Most people of your age group have many fantasies and naive, starry-eyed
ideas about movie stars and other idols. Needless to say, this tendency to
idolize someone can lead to big disappointments and those of you who married
early in life projected your fantasies on your spouse, and had to gradually face
the realities as you matured.
What is New and Different in Your Age Group
You are part of a 7 year group of people who are very creative in the arts,
music, literature, and philosophy. Your age group draws upon some new
inspirations and has a talent for weaving many seemingly disparate styles into a
new, refreshing synthesis. Much of the creative inspiration of your period is
very refined and sensitive, and some of the greatest artistic and literary works
of your generation will receive full recognition only after many decades have
passed. You are a group that is primarily concerned with the quality of your
creative endeavor rather than its distribution and marketing.
